Mes classes de 2nde6 et 2nde4 m’ont servi de premiers ‘cobayes’ (:-D grand merci \u00e0 tout le monde !) pour tester mon logiciel S4E. Cette premi\u00e8re \u00e9tude est un petit \u00e9chantillon de 42 \u00e9tudiants, \u00e2g\u00e9s de 14 \u00e0 16 ans. Le fait d’avoir des utilisateurs totalement d\u00e9butants et d’autres parfaitement \u00e0 l’aise permet de r\u00e9aliser des tests plus pr\u00e9cis.<\/p>\n

Les \u00e9tudiants ont test\u00e9 le logiciel sans aucune documentation ni aide, avec pour seul objectif de tout tester et de r\u00e9ussir \u00e0 t\u00e9l\u00e9verser le premier programme \u00ab\u00a0Blink\u00a0\u00bb dans une carte. Certains d’entre eux \u00e9taient des d\u00e9butants en programmation de cartes micro contr\u00f4leur, pas forc\u00e9ment \u00e0 l’aise avec les logiciels ‘\u00e0 la Scratch’, d’autres \u00e9taient des \u00a0\u00bb experts \u00a0\u00bb et programmaient m\u00eame en mode texte.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

My classes of 2nde6 and 2nde4 served as my first ‘guinea pigs’ (:-D many thanks to everyone!) to test my software S4E. This first study is based on a small sample of 42 students, aged between 14 and 16. Having both complete beginners and those who are very comfortable with  computing allows for more accurate testing.<\/p>\n

The students tested the software without any documentation or help, with the sole aim of testing everything and succeeding in uploading the first \u00ab\u00a0Blink\u00a0\u00bb program to a board. Some of them were beginners in microcontroller board programming, not necessarily comfortable with VPLs, others were \u00ab\u00a0experts\u00a0\u00bb and even programmed in text mode.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Dans l’ensemble, pour l’interface graphique de S4E, les \u00e9tudiants ont trouv\u00e9 le contraste des couleurs, la disposition des commandes et la facilit\u00e9 d’utilisation tr\u00e8s bons (70 % de satisfaits). Ils ont manqu\u00e9 d’informations et de compr\u00e9hension quant \u00e0 l’utilit\u00e9 du panneau lat\u00e9ral.<\/td>\nOverall, for the S4E GUI, the students found the colour contrast, layout of controls and ease of use very good (70% satisfied). They lacked information and understanding of the purpose of the side panel.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n

Ils l’ont \u00e9galement compar\u00e9 \u00e0 d’autres logiciels ‘\u00e0 la Scratch’ et ont trouv\u00e9 S4E aussi facile ou plus facile \u00e0 50 %, beaucoup ne se sont pas prononc\u00e9s car pour eux \u00e7a va.<\/p>\n

Je suis assez fier de savoir que mes \u00e9l\u00e8ves, qui ont utilis\u00e9 mon ancien logiciel Blockly@rduino pendant plusieurs semaines, ont trouv\u00e9 que S4E est bien plus facile. Ouf, pari r\u00e9ussi !<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

They also compared it to other VPL software and found S4E as easy or easier at 50%, many did not comment because they thought it was fine.<\/p>\n

I am quite proud to know that my students, who used my old Blockly@rduino software for several weeks, found S4E much easier. Phew, successful bet!<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n\n\n\n

Cela donne une note de satisfaction subjective globale de 4\/5. Jusqu’\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, les r\u00e9actions ont \u00e9t\u00e9 g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement positives, tant de la part des quelques enseignants qui ont pu tester et signaler les bugs, que de la part des \u00e9tudiants qui ont aim\u00e9 les fonctionnalit\u00e9s et en ont sugg\u00e9r\u00e9 d’autres.<\/td>\nThis gives an overall subjective satisfaction score of 4\/5. Je copie l\u00e0 de fa\u00e7on brute (mais fautes d’orthographe corrig\u00e9es \ud83d\ude00 ) les remarques des \u00e9l\u00e8ves, j’ai enlev\u00e9 tous les points r\u00e9p\u00e9t\u00e9s (RAS, tr\u00e8s bien, aucun probl\u00e8me, etc).<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Je le trouve plut\u00f4t bien, j’aime bien, je pense qu’il faudrait ajouter un petit truc mignon pour rendre \u00e7a moins formel, les param\u00e8tres sont plut\u00f4t pratiques \u00e0 part qu’il reste encore quelque mots non traduits. Le logiciel s’utilise tr\u00e8s facilement et est facile \u00e0 utiliser. Le visuel est agr\u00e9able. Manque peut-\u00eatre une explication pour l’utilisation du sac \u00e0 dos.<\/p>\n

Le fait que l’on retrouve les structures du C\/C++ change beaucoup (et en bien) des autres logiciels de codage par blocs. A garder absolument. Est il possible d’ajouter des pointeurs ? Un bruit de canard d\u00e8s qu’on appui sur une touche du clavier ?<\/p>\n

Je trouve que c’est bien car en noir c’est sobre, et il faudrait peut \u00eatre mettre la barre d’outils \u00e0 droite.<\/p>\n

Quand on zoom ou clique en dehors du panneau lat\u00e9ral des blocs \u00e7a l’enl\u00e8ve. Y’\u00e0 des petits ic\u00f4nes qui sont affich\u00e9s mais auxquels on n’a pas acc\u00e8s, \u00e7a fait bizarre alors autant ne pas les mettre dans ce cas. Il faut avoir des bases en anglais, si c’est pour des \u00e9l\u00e8ves de 6\u00e8me, faut pas qu’ils soient comme moi. Il n’y a pas de croix sur le panneau ‘aide’. Sinon c’est fonctionnel, c’est agr\u00e9able \u00e0 utiliser.<\/p>\n

Je m’y rep\u00e8re bien, l’outil pour copier coller est compliqu\u00e9 \u00e0 comprendre si quelqu’un n’est pas habitu\u00e9 il n’y arrivera pas. Il faudrait peut \u00eatre mettre une limite au nom du projet.<\/p>\n

Logiciel simple mais si on n’a pas les bases on ne comprend pas, de m\u00eame si notre niveau d’anglais est insuffisant on ne peut pas modifier la langue.<\/p>\n

On ne sait pas par o\u00f9 commencer, lorsqu’on met un bloc on ne peut pas mettre quelque chose avant : en comparaison avec scratch, dans scratch il y a toujours un bloc du type \u00ab\u00a0Quand drapeau press\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb ce qu’il n’y a pas l\u00e0. Pareil, il n’y a aucune possibilit\u00e9 de tester son programme (en tout cas, seulement avec un ordinateur).<\/p>\n

Le logiciel est plut\u00f4t simple d’utilisation mais lorsque la personne n’as aucune connaissance en programmation, elle ne peut pas comprendre \u00e0 quoi servent les blocs et dans quelle cat\u00e9gorie piocher. Il est donc compliqu\u00e9 d’utilisation sans aide ext\u00e9rieure ou sans connaissance.<\/p>\n

Les couleurs des lettres du logo quand le logiciel d\u00e9marre ne sont pas tr\u00e8s jolies, peut \u00eatre mettre des couleurs plus vives.<\/p>\n

Je pense que l’interface est bien, je changerais surement la police d’\u00e9criture et le style graphique.<\/p>\n

Agrandir un peu le bandeau, mettre les blocs propos\u00e9s en dessous et pas \u00e0 cot\u00e9.<\/p>\n

Je n’ai pas pu l’utiliser tr\u00e8s longtemps mais j’ai trouv\u00e9 certains points positifs comme la couleur des blocs, le nom des des diff\u00e9rents endroits sur la barre en haut et la facilit\u00e9 de compr\u00e9hension des blocs.<\/p>\n

Il faut un peu plus de vocabulaire technique pour l’utiliser que pour mBlock et Scratch.<\/p>\n

I think it’s pretty good, I like it, I think it should have a little something cute added to it to make it less formal, the settings are pretty handy except that there are still some words left untranslated. The use looks pretty simple, a bit like scratch but with more possibilities.<\/p>\n

The software is very similar to Blocky@rduino and it’s easy to use when you’re used to programming but for beginners it might be complicated.<\/p>\n

The software is very easy to use. The visual is nice. Maybe it lacks an explanation for the use of the backpack.<\/p>\n

The fact that the structures of C\/C++ are present changes a lot (and in a good way) from other block-based coding software. A must have. Is it possible to add pointers? A duck sound as soon as you press a key on the keyboard?<\/p>\n

I think it’s good because in black it’s sober, and maybe the toolbar should be put on the right.<\/p>\n

When you zoom in or click outside the sidebar of the blocks it takes it out. There are small icons that are displayed but not accessible, it looks weird so you might as well not put them in. You need to have a basic knowledge of English, if it’s for 6th graders, they shouldn’t be like me. There’s no cross to close the ‘help’ panel. Otherwise it’s functional, it’s pleasant to use.<\/p>\n

I can find my way around it, the copy and paste tool is complicated to understand if you’re not used to it, you won’t be able to do it. It’s a good idea to put a limit on the name of the project.<\/p>\n

Simple software but if you don’t have the basics you don’t understand, and if your English is not good enough you can’t change the language.<\/p>\n

We don’t know where to start, when we put a block we can’t put something before: in comparison with scratch, in scratch there is always a block like \u00ab\u00a0When green flag pressed\u00a0\u00bb which is not there. Also, there is no possibility to test your program (at least, only with a computer).<\/p>\n

The software is rather simple to use, but when the person has no programming knowledge, he cannot understand what the blocks are for and in which category to pick. It is therefore complicated to use without outside help or knowledge.<\/p>\n

The colours of the letters of the logo when the software starts are not very nice, maybe put more vivid colours.<\/p>\n

I couldn’t use it for very long but I found some positive points like the colour of the blocks, the names of the different places on the top bar and the ease of understanding the blocks.<\/p>\n

The planet clutters the title, the colour block not visible when choosing and little explanation e.g. the backpack and if you choose the first colour block they are coloured boxes that appear and if you take the second one it’s a circle where you can choose different colour intensities.<\/p>\n

Je pense qu’il faudrait ajouter des blocs qui permettent d’ajouter du son.<\/p>\n

Gros probl\u00e8me de zoom !!!!!!!!! Quand on zoome sur le code et qu’on ouvre la cat\u00e9gorie ‘maths’ par exemple, les fonctions sont tr\u00e8s zoom\u00e9es\u2026 il faut dissocier les deux !<\/p>\n

Les couleurs de l’interface changent lors du changement de langue dans les param\u00e8tres. les param\u00e8tres ne sont pas sauvegard\u00e9s lors du rechargement de la page.<\/p>\n

Comme une bonne personne je voulais faire un don. Quand je clique sur faire un don, la page me ram\u00e8ne \u00e0 une erreur 404.<\/p>\n

La r\u00e9initialisation de param\u00e8tres lorsqu’il est ferm\u00e9 ou lorsque l’on cr\u00e9\u00e9e un raccourci pour le navigateur.<\/p>\n

Sac \u00e0 dos manquant et certains bloc restent en anglais malgr\u00e9 le changement de langue. Sur le panneau d’utilisation il y \u00e0 un gros carr\u00e9 blanc.<\/p>\n

Lorsque je change la langue, les textes ne changent pas tout le temps de langue. Il faut quelques fois que je rafra\u00eechisse la page.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

Big problem with zoom tool !!!!!!!!! When you zoom in on the code and open the ‘maths’ category for example, the functions are very zoomed in… you have to separate the two!<\/p>\n

L’icone du stylo ne devrait pas \u00eatre avec les autres ou supprim\u00e9 car on ne peut pas appuyer dessus. Le ‘redo’ et ‘undo’ devraient \u00eatre \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 de l’icone ‘reset’, pareil pour l’icone ‘expand toolbox’ qui devrait \u00eatre juste au dessus de la toolbox. Je n’ai pas compris dans quels cas ce logiciel serait utilisable ; le selecteur d’options dans l’interface n’est pas coordonn\u00e9 aux th\u00e8mes ; ce serait pas mal de d\u00e9caler le panneau (logique\/boucles…) \u00e0 droite car ca prend de la place. Il n’y a pas de bouton pour sortir du grand \u00e9cran, le logiciel affiche une barre pour d\u00e9caler la vision alors que le programme est court ; on peut faire bugger l’outil zoom en \u00e9loignant des blocs, l’outil zoom change aussi la taille de l’apparition des selections de blocs dans le panneau.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n

The ‘redo’ and ‘undo’ should be next to the ‘reset’ icon, same for the ‘expand toolbox’ icon which should be right above the toolbox.
